History of the Lodge The founders of West Ham Abbey were Merchants, Artisans and Burghers residing in the borough of West Ham. They included local politicians, several of whom went on to become Mayors of the borough. In 1911 it was decided to sever links with the local Town Hall and the Lodge was moved to the Masonic Hall, Plaistow E13. The list of founding members included brethren from two Lodges who practised Calver workings. They were those of Victoria Park Lodge 1816 and Dalhousie Lodge 860. In fact there was a total of six founding brethren from these lodges which is probably why a decision was made to adopt the Calver workings as West Ham Abbey's own. Indeed West Ham Abbey was only the third Lodge to practise Calver workings. Other Calver's Lodges The current list of Calver Lodges are as follows:
